Deputy City Secretary
The Houston Astros are coming to Huntsville on January 22 as part of their 2014 Astros Caravan, and while in
town, the representatives will participate in a special flag raising ceremony at Kate Barr Ross Park.
According to City Secretary Lee Woodward, the group is scheduled to arrive at 3:45 p.m. and will include current
players Robbie Grossman, L.J. Hoes, and Michael Foltynewicz, as well as team alumni Kevin Bass.
"The City of Huntsville is so excited to have representatives of the Astros franchise come for a visit,"Woodward
said. "During the event, Mayor Mac Woodward will raise an Astros flag, making Huntsville an official part of
`Astros Country!'
"The Astros were kind enough to accommodate a later start time in the afternoon so that local kids will be out of
school and able to attend, so we are hoping for a great turnout!"
The ceremony will be followed by a brief media session. Participating players/alumni are subject to change.
