Proclamation No. 2023-12
/
WHEREAS, since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, recognizing the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs
and small business owners; and
WHEREAS, more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business which create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year; and
WHEREAS, small businesses contribute positively to the community by supporting and contributing to local community organizations, entities and schools; and
WHEREAS, the money spent with small businesses is more likely to stay within the community and generate additional economic activity among other businesses in the community; and
WHEREAS, Huntsville, Texas supports our local businesses that create jobs, boost our local economy and preserve our neighborhoods; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas,
do hereby proclaim,
April 30 – May 6, 2023, as
NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
AND DO HEREBY CALL upon all citizens of Huntsville to join communities across the country in supporting small businesses and merchants during
Small Business Week and throughout the year.
