Proclamation No. 2022-26
/
WHEREAS, The Huntsville Independent School District students have earned the highest gains in the NATION in reading levels for 3rd – 8th graders from 2019 - 2022; and
WHEREAS, Huntsville ISD students had an average gain of 1.13 reading grade levels per year, which was the highest gain of all of the 3,760 districts included in the nationwide study;
and
WHEREAS, Huntsville ISD was the only district to score more than a full year’s average growth; and
WHEREAS, Huntsville ISD staff, students, parents and community came together to rebuild Huntsville ISD into something the whole community can be proud of; and
WHEREAS, Huntsville ISD gives credit to our teachers, instructional coaches, campus administrators, parents, community partners and Board of Trustees. Most importantly, credit goes
to the students who work hard each day to take ownership of their own learning; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas, extend this Proclamation with sincere congratulations and recognition to the
Huntsville Independent School District
for Achieving the Highest Gains in the Nation in Reading Levels for 3rd – 8th Graders from 2019 - 2022
