Subject:Half-staff flag request for Sgt. Virgil LaRue
The City of Huntsville has requested half-staff permissions for Friday, October 4, in honor of Sgt. Virgil LaRue, a WWII
veteran and survivor of the Bataan Death March. Sgt. LaRue has been a local resident for several years and passed
away in Huntsville on Tuesday, October 1. Tom and Connie LaRue, a son and daughter-in-law, also live in Huntsville.
Permission has been granted by Governor Perry’s office for Friday, October 4, for the city of Huntsville, “in honor of
Sgt. LaRue’s life and military service.” Assistance in spreading the word will be appreciated so that this will be
observed throughout the community.
