WHEREAS Wednesday, March 10, is the birthday of Bessie Mae Williams, born to Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Haywood as part of a big family of ten children.; and
WHEREAS Bessie is the oldest living resident in the Phelps Community and has lived in
Huntsville all her life; and
WHEREAS She attends and is an active member of the Pine Bluff Missionary Church in
Huntsville; and
WHEREAS Ms. Williams is a strong independent woman that takes great pride in her daily
appearance and enjoys being involved in strong debates; and
WHEREAS Today, Bessie Mae Williams is in excellent health at 100 years old. She loves to
cook and has many recipes to last a lifetime. This sweet beautiful soul is loved
by all who meet her; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
