Proc. 2015-43 Feel the Sting! Day 08-28-15
PROCLAMATION
No. 2015-43
WHEREAS the Huntsville Independent School District was established over a
century ago, to educate local youth; and
WHEREAS one of HISD’s core beliefs is that education is a shared responsibility
of the students, parents, staff, and the community; and
WHEREAS over the last couple of years, organizations and individuals across
Walker County have come together in a group called Promoting Our
Positives, performing acts large and small to show students,
educators, and district staff that they are appreciated and
encouraged; and
WHEREAS through the work of the group, this fall will see the return of Hornet
flags to the downtown square, for HISD events, to provide a visual
reminder of the support they have across our area.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the
power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville,
that
August 28, 2015
will be designated as: Feel the Sting! Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to Join the Swarm! by purchasing and
displaying Hornet flags, and standing behind our district.
