ORDINANCE NO. 77 -23
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17, SECTION 17 -13 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE BY
ADDING A PROVISION THAT LIABILITY FOR WATER SERVICE
CHARGES SHALL CONTINUE TO ACCRUE TO THE CUSTOMER OF
RECORD UNTIL A NEW DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED AND PRIOR
CHARGES PAID IN FULL AND PROVIDING FURTHER THAT
BONDS FILED UNDER PROVISIONS OF SECTION 17 -12 SHALL
BE SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS HEREOF, PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville
that Chapter 17, Section 17 -13 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Huntsville be amended as follows:

The present paragraph under Section 17 -13
shall be renumbered subparagraph (a).
A new subparagraph (b) shall be added to
read as follows:
(b) In addition to the written notification
required in subparagraph (a), all customers'
liability for charges accrued on accounts
shall continue to accrue until the security
deposit (cash or bond) for a new account has
been made in the City Water Department and
previous charges paid. All bonds filed shall
be specifically made subject to the pro-
visions of this section.
Where service at a location has been dis-
continued for thirty (30) days or more, new
customers may obtain service by the posting
of the required deposit or bond, as the case
may be.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance
shall be effective from and after passage.
