A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF AN ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY FOR THE KATE BARR ROSS MEMORIAL PARK LIGHTING PROJECT; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE ENERGY
EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS The City desires to develop a viable community for all citizens, and The ball fields in Kate
Barr Ross Memorial Park are in important part of the community; and
WHEREAS It is necessary and in the best interest of the City to apply for funding under the Department
of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program (EECBG).
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
SECTION 1: A grant application is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City and be placed in
competition for funding under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.
SECTION 2: The application will be for no more than $400,000 of grant funds to carry out the
replacement of lighting at Ball Fields #6, 7, and 8 in Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park.
SECTION 3: The Mayor and City Council strongly support this application to address the community
pride and recreation needs of the citizens of Huntsville.
SECTION 4: The City Council directs and designates the City Manager, Bill Baine, as the City's Chief
Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this
application and the City's participation in the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block
Grant Program.
