(NSP) GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND
HOUSING AFFAiRs c-rim, A) FOR THE 'HUNT, SVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD
STA-HILIZATIONTRO4ECT;. AND AUTROAM NOT HE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE
CITY'S EXECUTIVE OMCER AND AUTH fllRiZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL
MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
STABILIZATION GRANT PROGRAK
WHEREAS Blight is a problem for Huntsville as is affordable housing for low-income residents. This
award will allow for the removal of blighted structures and provide new homes for low-
income residents; and
WHEREAS It is necessary and in the best interest of the City to apply for funding under the 2009
Ne d StabilWor; Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, he it resolved by the City Council of the City .of Huntsville, Texas, that:
Section 1:, An application is hereby authorized to be,filed on behalf of the City and be placed in
competition for funding under the Neighborhood Stabilization Grant Program.
Section 2: The application will be for $1,0001000 of grant funds to implement the Neighborhood
SlabiliZafi,DnPrOjed.
Section 3: It.is:understood that the NSP i&a reimbursement program.
Section 4: The Mayor and City Council strpngly support this, application to address. the blight removal
and low-income housing production for the-dity and residents. of Huntsville.
Section 5; The City Council directs and designates the City Manager, Bill Baine, as the City's Chief
Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this application
and the City's partici a io in the Neighborhood od Stabilization Grant .Program
