TEXAS, that:
Section 1. Southwestern Bell Telephone Company sh
said company is hereby, authorized to place in effect the fo
schedule of rates for local exchange telephone service on th
billing date after final passage of this Ordinance:

(a) The rate for business one party flat rate -key is one and one -tenth
times the rate for one -party business flat rate service.
(b) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and three - fourths times
the rate for one -party business flat rate service.
(c) Local messages are seven cents each with a minimum loca revenue
guarantee equal to the one party business flat rate ser ice.
(d) The rate for flat rate Semi - Public Coin Telephone servi
of the rate for one party business flat rate service.
(e) Basic rate for initial suburban service area only.

(f) Basic rate for initial rural service area only. Rural service is
not available within the initial suburban service area. Southwestern
Bell Telephone Company may withdraw rural service as facilities
are made available to provide a better class of service.
Section 2: All ordinances heretofore passed by the City of
Huntsville establishing rates and charges for telephone service (except the
ordinance dated Decemb er 4, 1956, establishing a base rate area) are h:reby
repealed effective with the establishment of the rates authorized in S.•tion
1 above.
Section 3: Nothing contained in this ordinance shall be cons ed now
or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner, the right and pow r of
the city under the law to regulate the rates and charges of Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company.
