ORDINANCE NO. 73 -7
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY AMENDING AN ORDINANCE HERETOFORE PASSED
KNOWN AS THE HEALTH ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, BY
FURTHER DEFINING THE TERM "HEALTH OFFICER" AND BY AMENDING
SECTION XIV OF THAT ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE A FOOD HANDLERS PER-
MIT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE BE AMENDED BY AMENDING AN ORDINANCE HERETOFORE PASSED
ENTITLED HEALTH ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE BY AMENDING
SECTION I(e) AND SECTION XIV OF SAID ORDINANCE WITH SUCH AMEND-
MENTS TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: DEFINITIONS.
(e) HEALTH OFFICER -The term "Health Officer" shall
mean the Director of the City of Huntsville
Health Unit or his authorized representative and
the Medical Director of the Montgomery - Walker
County Health District, and his successor in
office as such, is hereby officially designated
as the City of Huntsville Health Officer.
Section XIV: CLEANLINESS OF EMPLOYEES.
(a) No person who is afflicted with any disease
communicable through food, or who is a carrier
of such a disease or who has a suppurative disease,
or who is suffering from jaundice, or periods of
vomiting and /or diarrhea, shall be permitted to
work or serve in a food sales or service establish-
ment while so afflicted.
(b) A Heaf or Tine test for tuberculosis shall be made
on all food handlers prior to employment and
annually thereafter. All positive reactors shall
have a chest x -ray.
(c) A gross examination of all food handlers shall
be made prior to employment and annually there-
after by a physician duly licensed by the State of
Texas. The examining physician shall provide the
examinee with a letter stating that the examinee
has been found to be free of any evidence of in-

fections or contagious disease, The examinee
shall be instructed to present this writing to
the Montgomery - Walker County Health District
where he shall be 'registered and a food handlers
permit shall be issued to him.
