AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING A PORTION OF 18th STREET FROM Ayalus "J"
EAST 10 A POINT 1 0 TEST WEST OF AVENUE *I" IN THE CITY
Or HUNTSVILLE,
WHEREAS that portion of 18th Street between Awus J and
Avenue I in the City of Huntsville, Texas, is an unimproved
street and The State of Texas for the use and benefit of
Houston State Tesohers College and C. C. Springfield and wife,
are the owners of all the abutting property thereto and have by
duly executed and acknowledged instrument petitioned the City
Council of the City of Huntsville to abandon as a public street
that portion of said 18th Street from the Fast side of Avenue
J a distanoe of 296 feet, same being a point -150 feet
West of Avenue I, which said portion is not used as a public
street and there is no necessity for the same; therefore
BF IT ORDAMOKBY THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
That, that portion of Oth Street from its intersection
with the last line of Avenue J, thence East 296 feet, same
being a point 150 feet West of Avenue I, be and the sage in
hereby abandoned as and for a public street and thoroughfare, same
not being wed as such, and the City Counoill having found and
determined that there is no public neoessity for said abandoned
portiont of said 18th Street as a public street and thoroughfare.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, this 3rd day
of January, 1961.
