Proc. 2010-46 HHS Track Team Day 05-18-10 PROCLAMATION NO. 2010-46 WHEREAS the Huntsville High School Boys’ Track Team won District 18-4A in 2009, th finished third as a team in Region III-4A in 2010, and 2010 is the 4 consecutive year the Boys’ Track Team has sent qualifiers to the State Track Meet; and WHEREAS competing at State for Huntsville was Region III-4A 100m and 200m Champion Justin Gilbert, who was also a State qualifier for the 4x100m Relay; Region III-4A Discus Champion Brodrick Hadnot; and Dimitri Collier, Henry Ford, Cameron Simmons and Erroll Hodge in the 4x100m Relay; and WHEREAS the Huntsville High School Girls’ Track Team had their first trip back to the State Tract Meet since 2008, where Region III-4A Champion RaKira Turner competed in Discus and Shot Put; Shan Moring served as a State Alternate in the 400m; and Kristine Hanks served as a State Alternate in Shot Put; and WHEREAS Head Coach Jason Elliott and Assistant Coaches David Cooper, Joseph Granville, Kane Harris, Tim McGuire, Brittany Brumbelow, Mike Ray, Kathy Lehman th and Terrence Bell are proud to report the Huntsville Hornets finished 5 as a team statewide; and WHEREAS honors go to the following exemplary Hornet team members: rdth Justin Gilbert - State Champion in the 200m; 3 in the 4x100m Relay, and 4 in the Long Jump rd Dimitri Collier, Cameron Simmons and Henry Ford - 3 in the 4x100m Relay th Brodrick Hadnot - 8 in the Discus thth RaKira Turner - 7 in the Discus and 6 in the Shot Put. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: May 18, 2010 be declared: HHS Track Team Day in the City of Huntsville and urge all citizens to congratulate these student athletes for outstanding achievement.
