PROVEMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PRE-
PARE AND FILE PLANS; AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS TO-
GETHER WITH ESTIMATES OF THE COST THEREOF, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO ENTER INTO A MECHANIC'S AND MATERIALMAN'S AND PAVING LIENS CON-
TRACTS WITH ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, WHERE NECESSARY:
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, has made a survey of improvements needed for certain streets
within the corporate limits of the City of Huntsville at the request
of property owners abutting such streets and reported his findings
from time to time to the City Council and the Council having con-
sidered all the evidence available and heard the request of various
property owners appearing in open session of the Council and based
upon such evidence as presented has determined that a necessity
exists for improvements as recommended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that the City Council in regular,
session has determined, and here finds that a necessity exists for
the paving and improving of certain streets within the corporate
limits of the said City of Huntsville, Texas, as more particularly
described as follows:
A. 12th Street from Sycamore Street to Avenue
G, a length of 1,315 feet;
B. 17th Street from Avenue H to 16th Street,
a length of 618.2 ft.;
C. Avenue H from 9th Street to llth Street for
a length of 850 feet;
D. 10th Street from Avenue F to Avenue H, for
a length of 710 feet;
E. Mize Street from Highway 75 North, West 780
feet.
The City Engineer, Clarence E. Hamm, is directed to
prepare and file with the City Council plans and specifications
for such work and preliminary estimates of the cost thereof. It
is further Ordained that the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into Mechanic's and Material -
man's and Paving Liens Contracts with the abutting property ownership,
where applicable, in accordance with this Ordinance and in accord-
ance with Ordinances to be hereinafter enacted for such paving and
improvements of such streets.
PASSED in Open Meeting by unanimous vote on this the
23rd day of February, 1971.
