PROCLAMATION
NO. 2013-02
WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest
awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout as it requires years of
dedication and commitment to achieve, since Eagle Scouts act as leaders
and role models in the community; and
WHEREAS Joshua Kane of Huntsville, Texas has been a Scout since 2000, and both
joining Scout Troop 98 and earning his Arrow of Light in 2005; and
WHEREAS Joshua planned and led and participated in the building of a 46-foot
ADA-certified ramp for use at the home of a quadriplegic, aiding in the
construction of an addition to the home and providing safe access for the
homeowner; and
WHEREAS Joshua has enjoyed important experiences in his time with Scouting,
learning to be a self-reliant leader in addition to serving his community
and fellow man; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Joshua Kane as he exemplifies the
values that make a community strong;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
October 13, 2012
be declared: “Joshua Kane Day”
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement
and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
