PROCLAMATION
NO. 2012-15
WHEREAS the Sam Houston State University Bearkats are the undisputed
Southland Conference Champions and only undefeated team in the
Football Championship Subdivision; and
WHEREAS the Bearkats will play their first game in the 2011 NCAA Division I
Football Championships on Saturday, December 3, against the
Stonybrook Seawolves; and
WHEREAS the success of a University football program requires the tireless
effort and dedication of not only its players, but of its coaches, athletic
directors, parents, alumni, and community;
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is asking that all members of our community
ndrd
dress and decorate in orange and white on December 2 and 3 to
help celebrate this special occasion and support the Bearkats.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
December 2011
be declared:
“Bearkat Pride Month”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to show their spirit in support of the Sam
Houston State University Bearkats throughout the month of December.
