Proc. 2016-20 - Severe Weather Awareness Week - 3-1-16
PROCLAMATION
NO. 2016-20
WHEREAS Severe Weather Awareness Week is February 28-March 5, 2016; and
WHEREAS each year brings the potential for violent weather to Texas; and
WHEREAS the Texas Division of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have joined in urging all citizens to prepare for
severe weather events and to educate themselves on safety strategies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
February 28 - March 5, 2016
be declared:
Severe Weather Awareness Week
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to take steps to ready themselves, their loved ones and their homes for coping with severe weather events.
