PROCLAMATION
No. 2016-19
WHEREAS service to others is a hallmark of the American character and a quality of leadership; and
WHEREAS Magda Castaneda has worked at McDonald’s Store #2868 for five years, moving up as her skills improved and increased; and
WHEREAS Magda garners raves from the public for her always-smiling face and is lauded by owners Marshall and Jeanie Smith for her “wonderful personality and outstanding attitude”; and
WHEREAS she has so consistently impressed the residents who interact with her that she was nominated as the 2015 Crew Person of the Year for the Houston Region of McDonald’s, USA, and
the nomination received over 70 letters, calls, and emails in support; and
WHEREAS from over 700 locations and approximately 38,533 crew persons in the region, Magda Castaneda has been selected for this distinctive honor, recognizing her exceptional service
and performance.
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Magda Castaneda, as she exemplifies the values that make our community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
April 5, 2016
be designated as: Magda Castaneda Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement
and acknowledge Magda’s special contributions to our community.
