Proc. 2016-12 - Morgan Carr Eagle Scout Day - 1-13-16
PROCLAMATION
No. 2016-12
WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout as it requires years of dedication and commitment to achieve,
since Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in the community; and
WHEREAS Morgan Carr began scouting in 2008, progressing through Tenderfoot, Second and First Classes, Star, and Life Scout, before earning the Eagle Scout rank in 2015; and
WHEREAS Morgan was a member of Troop 1046, and earned 45 merit badges as well as attending Scout summer camps and contributing many hours of service such as with Habitat for Humanity,
Safety Town, Hospitality House, and at the Lexington Retirement Center, among others; and
WHEREAS for Morgan’s Eagle Scout Project, he cleared and reopened the Nature Trail next to Scott Johnson Elementary School, which had been closed for two years; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Morgan Carr, as he exemplifies the values which make a community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
January 13, 2016
be designated as: Morgan Carr Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement
and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
