Proc. 2018-35 - United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth (U.M. ARMY) Week, 6-8 to 12-16
PROCLAMATION
NO. 2018-35
WHEREAS the U. M. ARMY stands for the United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth, who will be working in our community from July 8-12; and
WHEREAS this is a youth-driven program that provides an opportunity for youth to serve those who cannot help themselves; and
WHEREAS visiting young people perform free minor construction work such as building wheelchair ramps and porches, installing handrails, painting, and doing yard work; and
WHEREAS these volunteers work with First United Methodist Church in Huntsville and hope to improve the quality of life for many in our area; and
WHEREAS we welcome this organization and thank the participants for helping make Huntsville an even better place to live and work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
July 8-12, 2018
be declared: UNITED METHODIST ACTION REACH-OUT
MISSION BY YOUTH WEEK
in the City of Huntsville and urge all citizens to join us in celebrating these young people for their example and hard work for our community.
