PROCLAMATION
NO. 2018-26
WHEREAS The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace is a non-profit organization that works towards the improvement, welfare, happiness, and peace of the human family and Mother Earth,
promoting activists for peace in the framework of universal values and principles for the defense of human rights and the rights of Mother Earth, through the development of programs,
projects, and campaigns aimed at different areas in which humans operate and interact; and
WHEREAS on April 21, 2018, the group will perform a clean-up at Huntsville State Park, to help take care of the planet; and
WHEREAS there is a global tendency and momentum for universal principles that protect the environmental rights of Mother Earth, to ensure environmental, social, cultural, and economically
sustainable development in which the present generations’ use of resources does not compromise the heritage of future generations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
April 21, 2018
be declared: Mother Earth Day
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration and care of our home, Mother Earth.
