PROCLAMATION
NO. 2017-34
WHEREAS when an emergency occurs, the prompt response of police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel is critical to the protection and preservation of life
and property; and
WHEREAS Public Safety Dispatchers are the first and most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services and the safety of our police officers, firefighters, and emergency
medical services personnel is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who telephone the Walker County Public Safety Communications Center; and
WHEREAS each dispatcher has exhibited compassion, understanding, and professionalism during their job performance in the past year, and have contributed substantially to the apprehension
of criminals, suppression of fires, and treatment of patients and insuring their safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
April 9-15, 2017
be declared: National Public Safety
Telecommunications Week
in the City of Huntsville, and encourage all citizens to honor the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep our community and citizens safe.
