Proc. 2017-16 - Thomas Williams Eagle Scout Day - 4-22-17
PROCLAMATION
No. 2017-16
WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout as it requires years of dedication and commitment to achieve,
since Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in the community; and
WHEREAS Thomas Williams began scouting as a Bear, and completed Webelos Ranks I and II, before crossing over to become a Boy Scout in 2013; and
WHEREAS Thomas is a member of Troop 114, and has earned 38 merit badges as well as held the positions of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader; and
WHEREAS for his Scout project, Thomas created a reference book for use at the H.E.A.R.T.S. Museum in Huntsville which contains pictures and details about many of the model planes on
display; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Thomas Williams, as he exemplifies the values that make a community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in
me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
April 22, 2017
be designated as: Thomas Williams Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
