Proclamation N0. 2019-40
WHEREAS Parks and Leisure Director Joseph Wiggs has been an important member of the City of Huntsville since beginning work as a seasonal worker in Parks in April 1999, and retiring
as Director of Parks and Leisure; and
WHEREAS Joseph has served his country in the United States Marine Corp, bringing his passion for service and “first to fight” to the citizens and fellow coworkers of Huntsville; and
WHEREAS Joseph has served the citizens outside of his work hours through various organizations, educational outreach programs, and sporting events, all while remaining the epitome of
strength and perseverance for his family and friends, giving true meaning to “Semper Fidelis”; and
WHEREAS today we praise the 20 years of dedication and hard work of this great man, while we also congratulate Joseph on his retirement to well-deserved rest and recreation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:

be declared: Joseph W. Wiggs III Day
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to thank Joseph for all he has done and his devotion to #HomeSweetHuntsville and our community.
