Proc. 2020-17 - Honoring young artists, 2-2020
Proclamation No. 2020-17
WHEREAS six Huntsville ISD students were awarded during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s annual School Art Program in January, representing Huntsville High School and Mance Park
Middle School respectively; and
WHEREAS two students roped in a pair of Best in Show awards, featuring the work of junior Angel Ortega and middle schooler Narcizo Cuevas; and
WHEREAS the gold medals were handed out to freshman Arashelly Perla, junior Olivia de Rio and middle schooler Abigail Jones, with a special merit award earned by Erica Adams; and
WHEREAS students worked their way to the art show by competing in district shows and could end up earning each artist monetary rewards in the Show auction; and
WHEREAS each artist is to be commended for the inspiration and dedication to art through their efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me on behalf of the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: HISD Inspiring Artist Day
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of the hard work success of these students and teachers.
