Prohibiting the keeping or storing in the City of Huntsville of gasoline, benzine, carbon
b►sulphide,: (High Lif . ma.ptha, or other fluids (except alebhol, denatured orr otherwise)
which at ordinary temperature give off inflmmable vapors, except in metal cans or storage
tanks with pumps approved by the National Board of Fire Underwriters and installed in a
standard mannery providing for the installation of all metal cans* storage tasks and pumps
in the City of Huntsville; regulating the distance from the property line said can, storage
tanks, or pumps shall be installed; providing a penalty for the violation of any provision
of this ordinance; proms ding that the invalidity of a part shall not invalidate all of said

SECTION is That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm. or corporation to keep or store
on any premises in the City of Huntsville, any gasoline, benzine,• carbon bisulphide, (High
Life),,, naptha, or other fluids, (except alcohol, dexaturated or other 'wise) at ordinany.
temperatures, give off inflemable vapors, except in metal cans and storage tanks with Proper
PUMPS, approved 'by the National Board of Fire Underwriters,
SECTION Z$ That all,metal cans, storage tanks and pumps shall be installed in a standard
manner as provided by the rules of the rational Board of Fire Underwriters, and shall be
installed only after a. permit has been obtained from the City Council and under the direct-
ion of the Street and Bridge Ccw.ittee,
SECTION 3s That after the passage and approval of this ordinance, all metal cans, storage
tanks and pumps shall_.be placed.at least 14,feet eet from, the property line and any metal cans,
situated closer than 14 feet to the property line, shall be. replaced so as to be at least
14 feet from the property linen
SECTION 4a ; That any person,: firm or corporation, who should violate any provision. of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a iiisdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any
spum not more than Two Hundred (0200,00) Dollars, and esch day. that such violation thereof
continues, shall'oonstitute a separate offense and subject the violator with a, separate
penalty therefor;.
SECTION 53 The invalidity of a part of this ordinance shall not invalidate all of t!.e same
and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby a pressly repeal"

This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and publication.
The above and foregoing ordinance was referred to the Street and Bridge Committee in
open Council- on this, the 5th day of .February, 1929 at a regular meeting of said Council.
