RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HICKORY, PINE, OAK, PECAN, BOIS
D 'ARC AND CEDAR DRIVES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AS RESIDENTIAL STREETS AND
PROHIBITING CERTAIN TRUCK TRAFFIC THEREON.
WHEREAS, Section 12-27 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Huntsville, Texas, provides that from time to time the City Council
of the City of Huntsville , Texas , after proper finding , may designate
certain streets within said City as residential streets and by virtue
of such designation through truck traffic shall thereafter be pro-
hibited and,
WHEREAS, as a condition precedent to such Resolution a finding
must be made by the City Council of the City of Huntsville that the
best interest of the public and the safety of the public will be so
served by designating any such streets as residential streets and in
pursuance thereof, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas ,
after a study of traffic conditions on Hickory, Pine, Oak, Pecan,
Bois D'Arc and Cedar Drives within the City of Huntsville, Texas, has
determined that the best interest of the public would be served by
designating such streets as residential streets.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that the following named streets all located
within the corporate limits of the City of Huntsville, Texas, be, and
the same are hereby, designated residential streets only. Such streets
are: Hickory Street, Pine Street , Oak Street, Pecan Street, Bois D 'Arc
Street, and Cedar Drive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE SAID CITY COUNCIL, that the
appropriate department of the City of Huntsville erect appropriate signs
in accordance with this Resolution.
WHEREUPON said Resolution was duly made and seconded and upon
vote, unanimously passed on this the 12th day of April, 1977 .
