RESOLUTION NO. 79-7
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville wishes to recognize Mr. W. T. Robinson,
who, as a prominent business and civic leader in the City of Huntsville and
Walker County, Texas, served the community through his foresight and dedica-
tion and his untiring efforts contributed greatly to the successful growth
of the City of Huntsville; and
WHEREAS, Mr. W. T. Robinson's courage and vision provided the outstanding
leadership which was the key to the completion of the seven mile freeway bypass
around the City of Huntsville, which greatly contributed to the safety and
convenience of those who use it; and
WHEREAS, the completion of this facility, which is now part of the
Interstate Highway 45 System, has alleviated traffic danger and congestion
in the City of Huntsville while improving the flow of bypassing traffic;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Huntsville desire to
recognize the many contributions of Mr. W. T. Robinson and to show the City's
deep appreciation for his diligent service to the community on this special
project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of_liuntsville, Texas, with a copy to the appropriate authority, that
the City proudly endorses and supports the application by the Huntsville
Walker County Chamber of Commerce, seeking the designation of Interstate
Highway No. 45, between Mile Post 112.5 and 119.0, as the "W. T. ROBINSON
MEMORIAL HIGHWAY," and to certify to which the Mayor and City Council have
caused their signatures to be affixed hereto along with the seal of the
City of Huntsville, on this the g tS day of May, A. D. , 1979.

1979, upon motion by Councilman Murray A. Brown , seconded by
Councilman Larry Corley unanimously adopted the following
Resolution No. 79-7:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, with a copy to the appropriate authority, that the City proudly
endorses and supports the application by the Huntsville Walker County
Chamber of Commerce, seeking the designation of Interstate Highway No. 45,
between Mile Post 112.5 and 119.0, as the "W. T. ROBINSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY,"
and to certify to which the Mayor and City Council have caused their signa-

This 7-Mile Freeway Bypass around Huntsville is dedicated
to the citizens of our great land with the hope that
it will contribute to the safety and convenience of
those who use it.
It is named in honor of W. T. Robinson, ft., of the City
of Huntsville and County of Walker, who as a prominent
business and civic leader served this area with great
dedication. With his courage and vision he provided
the leadership and determination which was the key 'to
the completion of this facility which aleviated traffic
danger and congestion in town while improving the
flow of bypassing traffic. This segment was
ultimately incorporated into the IH-45 system. '
In recognition of the outstanding contribution t�f
Huntsville and Walker County and in deep e. . tion
for his untiring efforts we proudly name this Bypass
for which he was so largely responsible.
