RESOLUTION NO. 75-4

RESOLUTION DESIGNATING RESTRICTED AND NO PARKING,
STANDING OR STOPPING ON 19TH STREET WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, FROM
ITS INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE R WEST TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH AVENUE S.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, has
heretofore passed an Ordiance being Chapter 12, Section 37, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, authorizing the Mayor as auth-
orized by the City Council to designate certain areas as no parking areas.
WHEREAS, 19th Street within the City Limits of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, at its point of intersection with Avenue R thence west
to its point of intersection with Avenue S is subject to unusually heavy
vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic, between the hours of 7:30 A. M.
to 8:30 A. M. and 1:00 P. M. to 2:00 P. M. , on regular school days by virtue
of_.such street being the .southern_boundary of the Huntsville Elementary .
School campus, which unusual traffic conditions leads to traffic congestion
and endangers the safety and welfare of the persons in the area, which
conditions have been observed and verified by representatives of the City of
Huntsville and a recommendation made that in the interest of the public in
general that parking, standing or stopping be restricted and prohibited.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT THE MAYOR BE AUTHORIZED AND BY THIS RESOLUTION
DOES AUTHORIZE, THAT THERE SHALL BE NO PARKING, STANDING OR STOPPING IN THE
SOUTHERN MOST CURB LANE OF 19TH STREET WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE R WEST TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE S;
AND FURTHER THAT THERE SHALL BE NO PARKING IN THE NORTHERN MOST CURB LANE OF
19TH STREET WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH
AVENUE R WEST TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE S BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:30 A. M.
to 8:30 A. M. AND BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1:00 P. M. to`'2:00 P. M. ON REGULAR
SCHOOL DAYS AS DETERMINED BY THE;HJNTSVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate Department of the
City of Huntsville, Texas, install traffic signs at appropriate points on
such street indicating such parking, standing or stopping prohibitions and
restrictions.
WHEREUPON, said Resolution was duly made and seconded and passed
by unanimous vote on this the f/ , day of February, 1975.
