Dear Mayor Waller:
Attached are copies of Minute Orders Number 69400 and 69401, which were
passed by the Texas Highway Commission on October 1, 1974. Also attached
are three copies each of resolutions pertaining to these Minute Orders for
your convenience.
Please note that these Minute Orders have been passed conditioned upon the
City's accepting and fulfilling certain requirements. It will be appre-
ciated if the Council, at its earliest convenience, will take the necessary
action required by the Minute Orders. Two copies each of the resolutions
together with motion and signatures should then be returned to this office
for further handling.

VHRRW, in WALUX COONTY, the City Of Huntsville has requested assistance in Signalise-
tion at the intersections of 11th Street with Avenue to Sam Houston Avenue, Avenue H,
Avenue Me and Avenue 0; and
MARKS, it Lis[i paty¢0 that filth Street will be included in the Urban System; and
BLS, it is the desire of the Tex" Highway Department to assist the City of Huntsville
in such work;
MOW, THWUWM, the State Highway Engineer is directed to tender the following proposal
to the City of Huntsville:
Provided the City will:
1. Haintain and operate the installations upon completion in a manner satisfactory
to the Department.
2. Adopt and enforce such ordinances and regulations as may be necessary for proper
operation of the installations.
Subject to the availability of Federal-aid Urban System funds and the eligibility of the
a
proposed work for financing with said funds, the Tessa Higbmmay Department will:

1. Prepare construction plans and specifications.
2. Provide for Installation of Traffic Signals at an estimated cost of $80,000 as
authorised in the Texas Highway Department 1974 Urban System Program.
Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the appropriate officials of the City
of Huntsville, the State Highway Engineer is directed to enter into agreement with the
City covering the details of the proposed improvements and to proceed with the engineer-
$ ing development of the project and with construction as authorised herein in the most
feasible and economical manner.
This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City of Huntsville and if not
accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein contained shall be auto-
matically cancelled.
