Proposed Projects

A public hearing will be held on April 29, 1975 at 7:00 P.M.
at the Westmoreland Building at Huntsville High School on the
p::oposed Community Development Programs to be submitted for fund-
i!ig consideration to the Federal Department of Housing and urban
Development under the provisions of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974.
Proposed Projects:
t I. Drainage improvement on McDonald Creek in the Avenue C
and Avenue D neighborhoods.
A. Objectives
1. Retard and prevent the recurrent flooding that
exists during and after moderate rainfall.
2. Eliminate the unhealthy and unsafe conditions
that exist as a result of the flooding.
3. Prevent the destruction of private and public
property that occurs as a result of the flooding.
B. Project Cost - 52,110.00
II. Town Branch drainage improvements between 7th and 10th
Streets - first of four phase improvement project.
A. Objectives
1. Retard and prevent recurrent flooding that exists
during and after moderate to heavy rainfall.
2. Eliminate unhealthy and unsafe conditions that
exist as a result of the flooding.
3. Prevent destruction of private and public propar.•r
that occurs as a result of the flooding.
B. Phase I - project cost - 81,000
III. Thomason Street Improvements between Avenue F and Avenue
H. First phase of a two phase improvement project.
A. Objectives
1. Provide paved east/west ingress/egress facility for
north Huntsville residents.
