RESOLUTION DESIGNATING SYCAMORE STREET WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS ,
FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH HIGHWAY 75 SOUTH TO
ITS INTERSECTION WITH HIGHWAY 19 EAST, A RESIDENTIAL
STREET THEREBY PROHIBITING CERTAIN TRUCK TRAFFIC ON
SUCH STREET.
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
has heretofore passed an ordinance dated February 27, 1973, autho-
rizing the City Council from time to time to designate certain
streets and highways within the corporate limits of the said City
as residential streets; and
WHEREAS, the said City Council after a study of traffic
conditions on Sycamore Street within said City has determined that
said street is not capable of use by excessive heavy vehicular
traffic because of the residential character of said street and
the fact that said street was not constructed or designed for use
by heavy vehicular traffic and that continued use by heavy vehicular
traffic impedes the flow of normal vehicular traffic and further
contributes to the deterioration and destruction of said street
and that the best interest of the safety and welfare of the public
in general would be served by designating such street as a residential
street thereby prohibiting the use of such street by heavy vehicular
traffic as a through street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT SYCAMORE STREET WITHIN THHE;

WEIGHING IN EXCESS OF 20 ,000 POUNDS BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY PRO-
HIBITED UNDER THE TERMS OF AN ORDINANCE HERETOFORE PASSED BY SAID
CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 27 , 1973.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that vehicles in excess of such
weight using such street for deliveries to residences or businesses
on such street or using such street for ingress or egress to a place
of business be, and the same are exempt from the provisions of this
Resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate Department
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, install traffic control signs at
appropriate points on such street indicating that through truck
traffic is prohibited.
WHEREUPON, said Resolution was duly made and seconded
and passed by unanimous vote on this the - day of February, 1974.
