An Ordinance of the City of Huntsville Preacribing
Rates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephono Service burnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
ULEREASp Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has
appeared before the City Council and has shown that the rates
and charges for local exchange telephone service heretofore
prescribed have proved insufficient to afford said Company
a fair return on the fair value of its property devoted to
furnishing local exchange telephone service in the Huntsville
telephone oxchanget and

produce for said Company more than a fair return on the fair
value of its sold property,

(a) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and
one-half tires the rate for one-party business
flat rate service.
(b) ;4inimum local message revenue guarantee equal
to one-party business flat rate service.
'( Rates and charges for miscellaneous services and
equipment shall remain as heretofore established
except as superseded by those rates and charges
contained in the Schedule of Miscellaneous Rates
and Charges attached hereto and made a part hereoff
provided, howeverp that southwestern Bell lelephone
Company shall have the right to file from time to
time with the City Secretary different rates and
charges for such miscellaneous services and equip-
ment, aucli different rates and charges to bacose
effective 30 days after filing unless otherwise
ordered by the City Council,
Section 2s All ordinances heretofore passed by
the City Council of the City of Huntsville establishing rates
and charges for telephone service (except the ordinance dated
December 4p 1956, establishing a bass rate area) are hereby
i repealed effective with the establishment of the rates author-
ized in Section 1 above.
Section 3& Nothing in this ordinance contained
shall be construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying$
in any manner# the right and power of the city under the law
to regulate the rates and charges of southwestern Bell Telephone
Company.
