To the City Council:
It is with great pleasure , on behalf of the members of the Hotel Occupancy Tax
Board, that I hereby recommend HOT fund support for the SHSU playoff game(s)
this season, in the same amounts as in 2011 ($7,000 per game). Last year's games
in Huntsville were a boon to our community's identity and recognition, as well as
providing a much-needed economic impact. Pride in Sam Houston State
University, their teams, and our hometown was bolstered, as organizations across
the area all came together to pull off the playoff events, Huntsville for the
Holidays, Winter in the Park, and the annual Christmas Parade, among others.
We wish the Bearkats the very best and look forward to seeing Huntsville again
highlighted and promoted in this positive and productive manner.
Sincerely,
Dalene Zender
