ORDINANCE NO. 80 -3.6
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, PROHIBITING VEHICLES FROM MAKING LEFT TURNS FROM
19TH STREET ONTO SAM HOUSTON AVENUE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM
PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 12 -23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville
makes it unlawful to make a left turn at an intersection that has been
designated as an intersection at which no left turns shall be made;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
Section 1: The intersection of 19th Street with Sam Houston Avenue is hereby
designated as a no left turn intersection from 19th Street;
Section 2: It shall be an offense for a person driving a motor vehicle on
19th Street to turn to the left onto Sam Houston Avenue.
Section 3: The City's Street Division is hereby authorized and directed
to post proper signs at the above intersection.
Section 4: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be
punished by a fine of not more than two hundred ($200.00) dollars, and
each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms
of this ordinance shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 6: This Ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council. The City Secretary is hereby
directed to give notice thereof by causing the caption of this ordinance
to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Huntsville
at least twice within ten days after the passage of this ordinance.

PASSED AND APPROVED BY A FORMAL VOTE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ON THIS THE 2 ncdday of S e_ 't_ , 1980 upon
its second reading.with two "no" votes and five "ye g" votes. One member absent.
