SUBMISSION OF AN AMENDED REQUEST TU THE HAZARD MtTiGATION GRAI�iT PROGR.AM FUNDED
PRUjECT TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE COMMUNITY SAFE ROOM;
AND AUTHOR[ZING THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, AND/OR THE iNTERIM CITY MAHAGER TO ACT AS
THE GITY'S EXECUTIVE UFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REP1tESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS
PERTA[NING TO THE C1TY'S PARTIC[PATION IN THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
The City desires ta develop a viable community far all citizens, and lack af a catnmunity safe
room is a threat to the health and safety of Huntsville's citizens; and
It is necessary and in the best interest of the City to request additional funding under the
2010 Hazard Mitigatian Grant Program (HMGP�.
NUW, THEREFaRE, be it resolved by the City Go�ncil of the City af HuntsviIle, Texas, that:

A(n) HMGP amendment request is hereby authorized ta he �led on behalf af the City.
The request will be far no more than $1,85Q,$10.00 af grant funds to carry out the
Comnrrunity Safe Room Project.
The City shaii cantribute no mare than $45�,631.f}0 in the farm af in-kind match and cash
for this amended request
The Mayor and City Council strongly supporC this application to address the sheltering
needs of the eammunity at Iarge.
SECTION 5: The City Council directs and designates the Mayor, City Manager, and/or the Interim City
Manager as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all
matters in connection with this application and the City's participatian in the Hazard
Mitigation Grant Program.
