WHEREAS Margaret B.Rost was born on September 18, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas,the great-
granddaughter of General Sam Houston and Margaret Lea Houston and the
granddaughter of Antoinette Power Houston Bringhurst the youngest daughter of
the Houstons who was born in the Woodland Home in Huntsville, Texas; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Rost has carried on her ancestor's pride and love of Texas and support of
education and lifelong learning; and
WHEREAS Margaret Rost received her education at the University of Cincinnati and was
invaluable as the first Superintendent of the Hamilton County Board of MR/DD,
working on many building programs and leading the organization for many years;
and was named "Citizen of the Year"by The Cincinnati Enquirer in 1986; and
WHEREAS it is with great pleasure that we honor this successful and special lady,of whom we
know her great-grandfather is justly proud.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that

in the City of Huntsville and urge all residents to join in celebrating this joyous occasion.
