An ordinance prohibiting the stopptine, parking or leaving standing of trucks, truck tractors
and trailers on certain streets and avenues within the City of Huntsville, Texas; excepting
the drivers of such vehicles from the operation of such ordinance in certain classes; pro-
viding for the enforceeent of the ordinance and fixing the penalty.
BE IT ORDAINED BY Thli CITY COUNCIL OF T. CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXASI
SECTION 1: No person, firm, associc:tin or corporation shall stop, park or leave standing,
whether attended or unattended, any truck or truck tractor having a gegistered gross weight
of six thousand (6000D lbs. or more, or any trailer, semi.etrailers pole trailer or house
trailer, having a registered gross weight of four thousand (4000) lbs. or more, or any
oombination of truck and trailer having a oombined registered gross weight of eight thou'-
sand (8000) lbs. or more, upon any of the following streets cr avenues within the City of
Huntsville, Texas, namely:
Tenth Street from Avenue J to Avenue M. inclusive
Eleventh Street from Avenue J. to Avenue M. inclusive
Twelth Street from Avenue J. to Avenue La inclusive
Avenue J. from Tenth Street to thirteenth Street, inclusive
Thirteenth Street from Avenue J. to Avenue a. inclusive
Avenue K. from Eigth Street to Fourteenth Street, inclusive
Avenue L. from Eighth Street to Fourteenth,Streot, inolusive
Avenue 1i. from Tenth Street to Thirteenth Street, inclusive.
SECTION 2: The provision of Section 1 shall not apely to the drivers of any such vehicles
where:
L. Such vehicle becomes disabled while on any such street or avenue in such manner add
to such extent that it is impossible to avoid stopping and temporarily leaviue such dis-
abled vehicle in such position, provided such vehicle is removed from suoh street or avenue
within one(1) hour after the same becomes so disabled.
2. Such vehiole is stopped, parked or left standine for the purpose of selling, deli-
vering and unloading commodities at commercial business establishments, or for the purpose
of loadineā unloading and deliverine of commodities sold by commercial business establish.
ments or for the purpose of loading, unloading, receiving and delivering of eoods, packages
or commodities shipped or transported to or from residences or businesses, provided in any
of such cases such vehicle shall not be stopped, parked or left standing at any such resi-
dence or business house longer than a period of one (1) hour.
3. Such truck or semieetruck is not attached to a trailer, semi-trailer, pole trailer
or house trailer, and is being used as a private passenger vehicle.
SECTION 31 Any person, firm, association or corporation violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon oonviction therefor be fin-
ed any sum of money not in excess of One Hundred (10000) Dollars.
SECTION 4: If any part cr parts o± this ordinance shall be held to be unconstitutional or
void, the same shall not affect tho validity of the remaining parts of this ordinance. The
Council hereby declares that it would have passed the remaining parts of this ordinance if
it had known that any part or parts thereof would be declared unoonstitutional or void.
SECTION 51 Thls ordinance shall become effective immediately after its publication as re..
quired by law, and it is so ordered.
