ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY ADDING A NEW
SECTION TO BE NUMBERED CONSECUTIVELY WITH OTHER SECTIONS OF
SAID ARTICLE II, AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO DESIGNATE
CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AS RESIDENTIAL STREETS ONLY AND
PROVIDING THAT THROUGH TRUCK TRAFFIC ON SUCH STREETS SO DESIG-
NATED AS RESIDENTIAL STREETS SHALL BE PROHIBITED AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 12, OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE BE AMENDED BY ADDING
A NEW SECTION TO SUCH ARTICLE II TO BE NUMBERED CONSECUTIVELY
WITH OTHER SECTIONS OF SUCH ARTICLE WITH SAID NEW SECTION TO
BE ENTITLED AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 12 -27: Through Truck Traffic Prohibited.
A. The City Council may from time to time designate
certain streets and highways within the corporate limits of the
said City of Huntsville as residential streets only and upon
such designation of any said street or highway as a residential
street only, through truch traffic shall thereafter be prohibited
from such streets or highways so designated. Designation of
streets and highways as residential streets only shall be by
resolution after a finding by the Council that the best interest
of the public and the safety of the public will be so served by
designating any such street as residential street only.
B. The term truck as used herein means any vehicle
weighing in excess of 20,000 pounds.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSV ILLE, TEXAS, THAT ANY VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE AND FORE-
GOING ORDINANCE, UPON BEING FOUND GUILTY THEREOF, SHALL BE PUNISHED
AS PRESCRIBED IN CHAPTER 1, SECTION 1 -8, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS.
