ORD CC 08/09/65 - Streets-SidewalksAN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF THE STREETS AND SIDEWALKS OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION ONE
It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct or impede the
ordinary use of the streets and sidewalks of the City of Huntsville
by assembling crowds thereon, or use the same for the purposes of
preaching, begging, speech- making, hawking goods or merchandise,
or selling medicine or other commodities without first having ob-
tained a permit authorized by the City Council of the City of
Huntsville.
SECTION TWO
It shall be unlawful for persons to gather together in squads
or crowds on the sidewalks or in the streets or at street corners
to the annoyance of the owners or occupants of the premises abutt-
ing the same. Any person who shall violate the provisions of this
section, after being warned by a policeman or the owner or occupant
of such premises to remove, shall be subject to prosecution.
SECTION THREE
No procession or parade shall occupy, march, or proceed along
any street in the City of Huntsville except funeral processions,
forces of the United. States, Army, Navy, or Marine Corp, the
military forces of this state, the forces of the police and fire
department, except in accordance with a permit issued by authority
of the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
SECTION FOUR
Every person violating any provision of this ordinance shall
upon conviction, be fined in a sum not less than $1.00 nor more
than $k.00.
