SHOPS AND GARAGES TO REPORT TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT ANY REPAIRS TO MOTOR VEHICLES
WHICH APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AC-
CIDENTS AND PROVIDING A PENALPY FOR VIO-
LATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF LUFKIN, TEXAS:
Section 1. That every person, firm or corporation engaged in
the business of operating a repair shop or garage or body shop of any kind
where the repairing, rebuilding or repainting of automobiles is carried on
shall, immediately upon receiving into such shop any motor vehicle which
is damaged or impaired in such a manner 'as might have been caused by,
or as a result of, a motor vehicle collision, report to the Chief of Police
of the City of Lufkin, Texas, the make, year of manufacture, motor and
serial number of such vehicle as well as the owner, or owners, of the
same and the name of the person or persons who delivered such vehicle
to such shop.
Section II. Any person, firm or corporation who failes to
so report as provided above shall be guilty of violating the provisions of
this ordinance and shall, upon conviction, be fined in a sum not less than
$10. 00 nor more than $200.00.
Section III. If any section or provision or part of this ordinance
shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining provisions
hereof shall be valid and constitutional and shall not be affected by those
portions which are declared to be invalid.
