A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM
APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR HAZARD
MITIGATION PLANNING; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE
CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS
PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS The City desires to develop a safe community for all citizens; and
WHEREAS It is necessary and in the best interest of the City to apply for funding under the
2016 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,Texas,that:
SECTION 1: An HMGP application is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City and be
placed in competition for funding under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
SECTION 2: The application will be for no more than $60,000 of grant funds to carry out
completion of a Hazard Mitigation Plan.

SECTION 3: The City shall contribute $20,000 in the form of in-kind and cash match for a total
match of 25%.
SECTION 4: The Mayor and City Council strongly support this application to address the Hazard
Mitigation Planning for our City.
SECTION 5: The City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Chief
Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection
with this application and the City's participation in the Hazard Mitigation Grant
Program.
SECTION 6: The City Council directs the City Manager to sign a Financial Obligation Letter
attesting to the availability of the City's matching portion of the grant.
