A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE
DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BODY-WORN
CAMERA PROGRAM GRANT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE
CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS
PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE BODY-WORN CAMERA
PROGRAM GRANT.
WHEREAS the City desires to ensure the safety and well-being of all it citizens;and,
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville requires the Huntsville Police Department be charged with this
task; and,
WHEREAS it is necessary and in the best interest of the City to apply for funding under the
Body-Worn Camera Program Grant;
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,Texas,that:
SECTION 1: A Body-Worn Camera Program Grant application is hereby authorized to be filed on
behalf of the City and be placed in competition for funding to the Texas Criminal
Justice Division of the Governor's Office.
SECTION 2: Application Grant # 3057901 will be for $66, 700 in grant funds plus $16,675 in
matching funds for a total of$83,375.
SECTION 3: The Mayor and City Council strongly support this application to address the safety
and well-being needs of the Community.
SECTION 4: The City agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
funds, the City assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice
Division in full.
SECTION 5: The City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Chief
Executive as the authorized official and is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject,alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the City.
