AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE TAX RATE AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE FOR THE 2011 -2012 FISCAL YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY
LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
THAT:
SECTION 1: There is levied and assessed and shall be collected for the 2011 -2012 fiscal year ending
September 30, 2012, an ad valorem tax of NO AND 39.15/100 ($0.3915) DOLLARS for each
ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) DOLLARS of assessed value of property located within the city
limits of Huntsville, Texas on January 1, 2011, made taxable by law, which when collected,
shall be apportioned among funds and departments of the city government of the City of
Huntsville for these purposes:
General Fund Operations
Debt Service for Payment of General Obligations Indebtedness

SECTION 2: All property upon which tax is levied shall be assessed on the basis of 100 percent of its
appraised value. Property Tax Code § 26.02.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by City Council.

2011 Property Tax Rates in Huntsville City
This notice concerns 2011 property tax rates for Huntsville City. It presents information about three tax rates. Last year's tax rate
is the actual rate the taxing unit used to determine property taxes last year. This year's effective tax rate would impose the same
total taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. This year's rollback tax rate is the highest tax rate the taxing
unit can set before taxpayers can start tax rollback procedures. In each case these rates are found by dividing the total amount of
taxes by the tax base (the total value of taxable property) with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100
of property value.
