AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY AMENDING CHAPTER 44, "TRAFFIC AND
MOTOR VEHICLES ", OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING A PENALTY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
PART 1: That Chapter 44, "Traffic and Motor Vehicles ", of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Huntsville, Texas, Article VIII, Section 44 -192, Schedule V, be
temporarily amended as set out in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and made a
part of this ordinance for all purposes.
PART 2: That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void
or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the
remaining provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full
force and effect.
PART 3: That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be punishable by as set out in Article I, Section 44- 4.Said
Ordinance, being a penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10) days after its
date of passage by the City Council and expires upon the completion of the
Texas Department of Transportation's project to upgrade IH 45 frontage
roads and connecting ramps.

EXHIBIT "A"
That Chapter 44, "Traffic and Motor Vehicles ", Article VIII, Section 44 -192 ",of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby temporarily
amended by amending Schedule V "Speed Limit Zones" by adding the following:
For traffic moving in a northerly direction on IH 45 main lanes from Mile Point
15.027 (Reference Marker 115 +0.867) to Mile Point 17.230 (Reference Marker
118 +0.110), the speed limit shall be sixty (60) miles per hour.
For traffic moving in a southerly direction on IH 45 main lanes from Mile Point
17.987 (Reference Marker 118 +0.867) to Mile Point 17.202 (Reference Marker
118 +0.082), the speed limit shall be sixty (60) miles per hour.
