NO. 2011-47
WHEREAS September 17, 2011, marks the two hundred and twenty-fourth anniversary
of the adoption of the Constitution of the United States of America by the
Constitutional Convention; and
WHEREAS the Daughters of the American Revolution — descendants of these great
patriots — hold their historical, educational, and public objectives in the
highest esteem; and
WHEREAS Public Law No. 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by
the President of the United States of America designating September 17
through September 23 as Constitution Week; and
WHEREAS it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this memorable
anniversary and to the patriotic exercise that will commemorate the
occasion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
September 17 - 23, 2011
be declared: "Constitution Week"
in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas, and all citizens are urged to recognize this event, to fly their
flags and participate in its observance. May we all be reverent as we remember the deeds of those
who have gone before.
