NO. 2011 -44
WHEREAS Lieutenant Colonel David Yebra of the United States Army was recently
selected as the 2011 United States Army Cadet Command Professor of
Military Science of the Year; and
WHEREAS LTC Yebra was selected from among 270 individuals and was nominated
for the award by his Brigade Commander Col. Bridget Rourke for his
dedication and commitment to Cadet Command and the United States
Army; and
WHEREAS LTC Yebra has accrued a list of recognitions, including a Bronze Star Medal
(with three Oak Leaf Clusters), the Meritorious Service Medal (with two Oak
Leaf Clusters), and the United States Army Parachutist Badge; and
WHEREAS as a West Point graduate and the Department Chair of the Sam Houston
State University Military Science Department, LTC Yebra's work as a
Military Science professor is invaluable to the university and its students;
and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud to have LTC Yebra as a member of our
community, here raising his three children with his high school sweetheart
whom he married over 20 years ago.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
September 6, 2011
be declared: "LTC David Yebra Day"
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of his
special contributions to our community.
