A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE, FOR INFRASTUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS IN EXTENDING THE WATERLINE ALONG SH 19
TO ELLISOR ROAD; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, AND/OR INTERIM CITY
MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL
MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE EDA FY 2012 DISASTER RELIEF
OPPORTUNITY.
WHEREAS the City desires to develop a viable community for all citizens, and the expansion of the
waterline along State Highway 19 is vital to economic development;and
WHEREAS it is necessary and in the best interest of the City to apply for funding under the Economic
Development Agency's FY 2012 Disaster Relief Opportunity.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,Texas,that
SECTION 1: A federal application is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City and be placed in
competition for funding under the FY 2012 Disaster Relief Opportunity.
SECTION 2: The application will be for $702,250.99 of grant funds to extend the waterline from FM
2821 to Ellisor Road along State Highway 19.
SECTION 3: The City shall contribute$175,551.50 (20%).
SECTION 4: The City Council directs and designates the Mayor, City Manager, and/or Interim City
Manager as the City's Chief Executive Officer and authorized representative to act in all
matters in connection with this application and the City's participation in the EDA American s.
Recovery Grant Program.
